First Step 6 Sided Outlines6-Sided Hexagon First Step Outlines

First Step designs are simple to understand absolute beginning level printables for preschool and young children. These patterns are useful in introducing math concepts to very young children, the developmentally challenged, and people with special needs.

Most First Step patterns are 2, 3 and 4 sided for the simple reason of simplicity. When you start into the 6 and 12 sided Hexagon patterns the cuts and folds just get more complicated. Hence, I made very few simple six sided easy patterns, as once the little munchkins start cutting out 6 sided snowflakes they are probably ready for more advanced designs anyway.

These uncomplicated figures seem perfect subject matter for wood working patterns and needlepoint tapestry. Make soft-sided christmas ornaments out of cloth or foam sheets. Color with crayons or markers, the cut out and tape onto windows as sun catchers.

They make great crochet and knitting proiojects as well. I think a fun project would be to transfer the designs onto latch hook rug squares and make some cool wall hangings or throw rugs. Imagine stepping out of the shower onto a soft mat of colorful snowflakes!
