When I was in Kindergarten, my mom bought this book. For my son, I bought a more current book but he wasn't able to do the snowflakes, so I purchased another Paper Snowflakes Made Easy. It was great to see the book is still available. It’s almost 30 years old and it still works great- the kids love it!

I used this book as a starting point for a unit on "Cultural Paper Cutting" and a unit on "The Science of Snow" for a multi-age group of children from 5 years to 10 years old. After the students were successful cutting from a pattern, they were excited to try their own patterns. I used this book in the classroom and in a scouting weekend camp.

This book was great for all ages. It has some very simple designs, as well as more challenging ones. If you start with the easy ones and work your way up in difficulty and complexity you'll be amazed at the results and your cutting abilities!

All of his books have different levels so that you can help children that have difficulty cutting, challenge those who need more of a challenge, and you can cut snowflakes along with them! This is a snowflake kirigami book. The levels are divided from 1 to 5, so you can practice folding and cutting at any age. All of the explanations are written in English, but there are also drawings that are easy to understand, so even those who are somewhat poor at English can probably understand it.

Students are able to "cut away the gray" so easily. Students are really happy with finished snowflakes. With the decline in Fine Motor skills that I have seen the past 10 years, the more my students fold and cut, the better!

I am an art teacher in a special needs school. I work with kids grade K-12 and many have motor skills issues. These templates made it so easy for them to make beautiful snowflakes!! We set them up to look like a snow storm in my classroom. Excellent book, excellent resource for any crafter of any age. I love that there are levels set up for beginner and they become more challenging as you go up each level.

I teach k-5 Art and used these designs as an early finisher activity. It was so easy to select a few pages from the book so the kids could choose the difficulty level they wanted to try. The directions on each page are simple enough for them to understand on their own and they proudly came to me with their finished snowflakes ! I highly recommend this book for teachers OR families that want a fun winter or snow day activity!

My experience was very pleasant and what surprised me the most was that it's very simple. I used to think that making crafts of this type was complicated and took a long time to do it, but with the book I only needed paper and scissors, in a matter of minutes I had the desired figure. I recommend it if you want an entertaining and easy activity to do with your family, you don't need to know English because the sentences are short and with a translator, you don't have a problem. The tips in the book also make everything easier. I recommend it if you want to de-stress yourself for a while with music while doing the snowflakes.

It was super fun. At our children's birthday party, each child cut out their own snowflakes. Because there are different age groups, there is something for every age group.

I bought the book as a gift for my nephew and it is a good buy. The instructions are simple and easy to follow. You start with the first level and before you know it you want to try all of them. I did not realize how much I loved making these snowflakes as much as my nephew did. It is our new favourite family activity, a great Christmas gift for kids.

I am an elementary art teacher and found this book to be a great addition to my classroom and home. The kids had so much success working their way up the levels. The scaffolding of levels is very helpful. They have easy success at the beginning levels and are very proud as they move upward. There is a level of wonder with cutting and folding that is exciting to watch. I have found cutting and folding to be challenging for my young students post-pandemic so I have made an effort to include more of it in my lessons. This resource was a great addition and once the students were introduced to it, the sheets made a great “early finisher” activity. Lastly, folding and cutting/hole punching are involved in the CogAT so if you, or your school, are looking to improve standardized test scores, practice such as this may help. *I received a free copy of this book because I am an art teacher who was willing to write an honest review after use.

I'm familiar with Roberts snowflake books. Almost every very year I put up a display from before Thanksgiving to after New Years. Last year I laminated a bunch of them and passed them around as gifts. My nieces are even doing some right now! Can't wait to make some of these new ones myself.

As a substitute teacher and a grandmother, this is a great book to have on hand! You can whip out a fun activity with minimal supplies. The instructions and visuals are easy to follow. I highly recommend!

I wanted a snowflake template book for my grandchildren, but I didn’t want something with animals and things. Those don’t really look like snowflakes. And that’s what I like about this book. The snowflakes look like something you might find out in nature. The kids especially liked that there were skill levels, so they knew just what to do. I enjoyed making them too. Highly recommended.

I am an art teacher and used these templates in my classroom for folding and cutting practice. The instructions are easy to follow and it really made making these beautiful paper snowflakes so easy. Usually when kids try to make their own you end up with a square with some holes cut out. Not the case here.

This book is well-organized and easy to use without any prep. I really like how the snowflakes are set up progressively by age level so children can be successful with the process at any age. I teach art to 1-6 grades, and it was perfect to give the different age levels something they could all do that was challenging enough but manageable to complete independently at their respective levels, and they all enjoyed making them. My 10-year-old daughter tried them and the first thing she said was - “these are a 10 out of 10!” She proceeded to make more, and was so excited that she could do it by herself without any help. I definitely recommend this book for parents, teachers, or anyone who loves making decorative snowflakes!

This book is brilliantly sequenced by difficulty to build confidence and increase skill levels in all budding artists. I teach elementary art and have never seen my students so excited about cutting (and building those little hand muscles)! I offered these realistic templates for my early finishers. Robert Kelley's clear directions and images allowed them to work independently so that I can focus on the rest of my class. My students chose their level of preferred difficulty and shape. Most of the templates are 6-pointed, even when folding the paper into fourths or eights (as folding papers into thirds or sixths can be difficult for my students). I enjoyed trying some of the higher-level snowflakes! I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to increase their paper-cutting skills and make some beautiful winter decorations.
