Children Can Print Patriotic Address Labels

Write letters to military service members and veterans and stamp the envelope with personalized patriotic address labels. These address labels are formatted for Avery brand label paper. I use them myself when I send out a card or letter in the snail mail system, which isn't very often anymore thanks to email and social media.

I miss the art of writing letters to relatives. When I was first married a hundred years ago I'd write 15 page letters to my mother and mother-in-law and my father and other family members. I thought it fun to write down all the cute stuff the babies were doing as they grew and I think the family appreciated it.

Today communication between people seems to be limited to a sentence or two on twitter or sharing someone else's sentiments of which you can relate. It can be fun for a while to talk in sound bites but it is also time consuming. What did I say? How can twittering a quick note be time consuming, you ask? OK, so the initial note is short and sweet...then you get the responses...so you reply and get more responses. No real thoughts, no deep contemplation, just back and forth mindless chatter. Pretty soon you have to come up for air, eat or sleep, and discover you've spent 10 hours exercising only your thumbs with your head down, oblivious to the reality around you. That's not for me.

I stopped sending out Christmas cards years ago when postal rates went up making it a costly venture. These days I have only a handful of old folk left in my family so there aren't a lot of people I can write to who would appreciate the sentiment but those folks who are still here appreciate receiving a nice long letter now and then. It's a cold medium these facebooks and twitters. I would never even consider writing a heartfelt essay to my family or friends and posting it on one of these public venues for lurking crackpots and cranks to take exception to something I said and start war with words, or worse some astroturfing special interest group picking apart my words to determine to which political camp they can chuckold me into and pester for donations. Who needs that?
